You could use KristinKA to achieve symmetry.

Re: UVSwimCompounds/ICEModelingTools 0.3
I used this yesterday. it did not work across discontinuous uv's, but it was still a huge time saver. Thanks.

Re: Kristinka Hair 3.0 released
ShapeSizeAbsolute works and I will continue to use it. I was just asking if we can keep this option in future releases? Strand Fcurve does not work with the Size input on emitter from nurbs, Without that Shapesizeabsolute does not work. and I was worried that you were going to eliminate the possibil...

Re: Kristinka Hair 3.0 released
I for the life of me, have never been able to get Strand Screen Size In SI Units to work. It seems to work for a little while. Then, a half hour or so down the road, my hair strands get to thick or thin. I tried it again with K3 but still get the same issues. Plus when I undo a camera move, the node...

Re: Kristinka Hair 3.0 released
Best update yet. I keep thinking I am hitting problems here and there, but it is just a different workflow. I'm able to figure things out a lot easier then in previous versions. The tool set is very well rounded. Very simplified. Thanks a ton for this update!

Wonderful! This is by far my favorite add on to XSI. I use it quite often and get very excited on news of updates.

Re: SaveRenderMesh
I started to create a new scene with the same setup for all to look at. And during the process everything worked! I swore yesterday when I put the SRM material on the instanced geometry (not the pointcloud) it would only save out the one object. NOT the instances. Then later that evening I tried the...

Re: SaveRenderMesh
Yeah, weird eh? I do not see anything in Strand Tree emit leaves compound that would be any different then the image shown above. I'm at a complete loss.

Re: SaveRenderMesh
I have the shader on the pointcloud. And it does export correctly if I set particle shape to the standard sphere, box, cone etc. But when using actual geometry and the Instance Shape node, It fails. Funny it works fine with Strand Tree but not with a very basic pointcloud setup.

SaveRenderMesh
Good day. I was wondering if anyone could help me with getting instanced geometry to output correctly using Andy Nicholas SaveRenderMesh addon? I am able to get it to work properly with the Strand Tree addon, but have failed at getting a simple pointcloud with instance shape to output. After tearing...

Re: Kristinka Hair 2.0
Yes, Perfect! And I agree, the rendering results do look better with the Screen Size method. The taper looks much more accurate along stand length. Many thanks.

Re: Kristinka Hair 2.0
I just replaced all my Kristinka nodes with the latest version to make sure I was using the most recent. After looking at RRay's scene, I find that he is getting the taper from the shader transparency. I am currently using a shader that does not have transparency, so I have to rely on the fCurve. Us...

Re: Kristinka Hair 2.0
My multiply factor is default 1. I set it to 0.1 like you, but still no taper. Can you PM me your scene file so I could take a look at it? I should be able to figure out what I am doing wrong that way.

Re: Kristinka Hair 2.0
I was never able to produce strand taper using Anto's Strand Screen Size In SI Units. SEE That is why I stuck with the ShapeSizeAbsolute method. I am sure I am missing something simple. And it has been explained several times in this forum. But, I just cant seem to get it.
