Re: Announcing Redshift - Biased GPU Renderer
I just finished a medical animation job with Redshift (2 minutes) and it was the rendering portion was the easiest time I've ever had -- in terms of scene setup and especially render times. At 720p, the average time per frame was 8 minutes. That average is kind of skewed because there was one troubl...

Can the strands collide with things other than strands?

Re: Network licensing support without subscription?
Stephen, I think I may have found the culprit in all of my license manager problems. I had ipv6 off when you had helped me recently. But a week ago I turned it on again, and my "no network license" errors came back. I had also recently upgraded to sp2 and found that I couldn't get batch li...

sp2 video performance differs from sp1 (worse)
I just upgraded to sp2, and I noticed that scene the average scene takes 5 times longer to show up in open GL after loading vs Sp1.
It's not that big of a deal to wait, but that tells me something is wrong with sp2 related to openGL performance. Maybe a driver issue?

Can 2014 Sp1 network nodes render an Sp2 scene?
Just asking, to see if I can avoid updating my nodes with sp2.

Re: Network licensing support without subscription?
An Ethernet address of ffffffff usually means you have a teamed adapter. If that's not the case, then I don't know the exact problem. Here's one other case that sounds similar. That guy has pretty much the same problem I do...except I already have Automatic(Delayed Start) set up in my service. I ha...

Re: Network licensing support without subscription?
I just noticed something that may or may not be the reason I get those "no license" problems. I had my render farm off for a couple of months, and most of my work was done on my main workstation. During that time, I would get disconnection from the my license server on a regular basis. I'...

Re: Network licensing support without subscription?
Also, what does ipv6 have to do with everything? I remember the last time I went through the same thing on the phone with an Autodesk tech about 2 years ago, we got the batch licensing working when I either turned ipv6 on ... or maybe it was off. For now, it's off on all machines. You need the IPv6...

Re: Network licensing support without subscription?
Actually I watched that video twice last night trying to figure out the problem. I can telnet the correct port(2080 in the license file) -- and I still get a "can't get batch license" error. When I run the diagnostic, I was getting the error box to pop up, until I fixed some Firewall port ...

Network licensing support without subscription?
I recently discontinued my subscription. Now I'm having a major issue getting my network license to allow me to run my xsibatch nodes. Am I screwed or can I get any support from Autodesk to straighten this out? Do I have to pay $800 to make the product work the way its supposed to? The product I've ...

Re: How are you guys doing with 2014? It seems very buggy to me.
About that license server thing...how would crash of Softimage cause the license server to crash also? By the way, weight painting is still a very dangerous process. You guys should take a hard look at it because it's not stable.

Re: my VRayMtl Compound with texmap multipliers
Hopefully they're implementing 3.0, because it looks awesome. But I know they're more MAX-centric.
