Re: Announcing Redshift - Biased GPU Renderer

I'm also on the test program. As someone who has been underwhelmed by a lot of renderers, this one is pretty amazing speed-wise.

Re: Spoiler Alert: NO SPOILERS ANYMORE

Yes, the third big problem is the AD resellers. I think we all know what we are buying and have no need for a middle man that eats up costs with no value added. AD needs to get rid of the reseller and just renew subscriptions online only. Does anyone have any use for the reseller? Now that I think ...

Re: Spoiler Alert: NO SPOILERS ANYMORE

The second problem is what looks like AD's fractionalizing of Softimage into parts rather than embracing it as a whole application that excels in everything. Maybe all the focus on CrowdFX is Autodesk's strategy to sell Softimage to Maya and Max users as a Crowd plugin. I'm half-joking, but you hav...

Re: Spoiler Alert: NO SPOILERS ANYMORE

We all know that bugs are part of software and we should be used to dealing with it by now. Software is a unique product, as its the only thing you'll pay money for that is automatically assumed to drive you crazy with it's imperfections and glitches. Maybe someday it'll be infallible, but its what ...

Re: Spoiler Alert: NO SPOILERS ANYMORE

I want my head blown off by demonstrations of new features......... That is such a high expectation. So high in fact that I don't think we would ever fulfill it, no matter what we did. Well, then maybe instead of cranking out some BS every year to get your obligatory subscription fees, how about di...

Re: Spoiler Alert: NO SPOILERS ANYMORE

so option is kinda, if assumption is true: 1: keep paying a LOT of money and receive almost nothing for them and "risk" killing software 2: stop paying, keep using version that you have, or last one, save a LOT of money and then in couple years, 5-10 when something better came up just switch if nee...

Re: new addon released: emTopolizer 1.0

Thanks Eric, I'm liking all of the new tools, and I'm learning a lot about ICE as I'm using them. I've hit a small problem with "context" dealing with weightmaps and the Smooth operator. How can I convert a weight map to be accepted by the Smooth or Push nodes?

Re: Softimage2014?

Somehow I doubt they would sell ;) To be honest I am getting a bit despondent about 3d apps in general. Maybe its my form of a midlife crisis as I cant afford a sports car and a young mistress ;) Just cant shake the feeling we should be so much further along then we are now ;) Autodesk owns Softima...

Lagoa simulation is unstable at higher fluid resolution

I'm trying to do a liquid sim, but when I turn the resolution per unit value to below 0.11, the particles fly all over the scene uncontrollably. I thought the the sim was supposed to work better at lower values.

Kristinka group separation for shoulder parting

Is there way to make a Kristinka hairstyle that can be separated in certain sections, to allow for the hair to be split by the shoulder(for example) without interpolation between the groups?
