I have that compound, but it doesn't work. Lots of red nodes when hooking it up.

you could actually keyframe a single scaler node with the exact keyframes you need counting backwards. if the fcurve is set to linear and the frame lengths match up it will work perfectly fine How would that be set up? Is there a subtract node involved? I have one scalar node with 105 to 1 keyframe...

Can I get some help setting up some math on a cache on file node? I have a cache particle sequence that is labeled 1 to 105. I want it to start playing at frame 600, but backwards from 105 to 1. Have you tried Alembic? You just select the ice cloud with instances, export to Alembic format with the default options. Then you just have to import this file in the same scene and voila, you may delete the original cloud, the imported cloud is cached forever and in every machine you open it. Than...

I've found something that seems mostly reliable. When using a cache on file node, I keep it in the main pointcloud -- as opposed to putting it in a new empty pointcloud. An old nagging problem....lost conneciton to the lic

Does anyone else deal with this annoyance? Sometimes my license server needs to be restarted while in the middle of working. I've always dealt with this issue and it's something I've put up with, but I'm getting tired of the BS with the license server.

What could be causing a problem like this?

It seems to be worse overall now. When I type in "vector" to look at the list of vector to scalar nodes, none of them show up at all.

Some compounds don't show up in ICE tree left pane

Why do some compounds not show up in the left pane, or when searching? To use Add Forces, I always have to go into the installation directory of compounds and import. Now today all of a sudden, I have to the same for Group Geometry and Multiply.

Anyone know what causes this?

Is this just a known thing with Softimage? I haven't used actions in a long time, but I really needed them for this project. When scrubbing the timeline, they update properly about 50% of the time -- and almost render correctly, but there will be a few with frames where the objects are in the wrong ...
