Re: OpenVDB to Softimage
ok. looks like this does the trick to match voxel grids and data content of emFluid and VDB. still some issues. e.g. i build the colorGrid inside emFluid as it does not exist like so. looking up with closest location decreases performance massivly... also i expected a little bit more details with a ...

Re: OpenVDB to Softimage
thanks Mr.Core
i followed your setup, but had to change some stuff.
it renders quite ok, but there's something wrong with the voxelsize.
not shure about it.

Re: OpenVDB to Softimage
...Nothing special have to be done... i used "VDB Voxelize Particles" which worked so far. but as this only translates "point-/-size/-velocity/-position", no voxelgrid/velocitygrid... i didn't get a cool look at all. so guess caching to .vdb is needed...(?) EDIT: emfluid just ne...

Re: OpenVDB to Softimage
this is amazing!
played around with it a bit.
i'd love to see a connection to emFluid. (is that possible?)
or more examples for ICE only situations.
unfortunately i don't have anything to show yet. i'll go on and try again.
thank you very much Mr.Core

Re: How to manage huge number of data (more than 18000 nulls)
shure. here you go....provide me a small example?...
btw. this example does not need any cache. it creates everything on the fly. although you can still cache it after that for faster feedback and avoid issues when reopening or rendering the scene.

Re: sIBL_GUI For Softimage
i'm sorry, i may have explained myself badly. there is that 3rd party application i'm testing. designed to talk to maya over a tcp port. as the events sent are only about (vray)materials which also exist in softimage, i thought i could use sibl_server to make the tcp connection to Softimage. so far ...

Re: sIBL_GUI For Softimage
hello and happy new year! i have an essential question about the tcp-server plugin. i use it also to recieve data other than from sIBL. from an application designed for maya. but it communicates well with the softimage tcp. i just uses the wrong language. mel. very wrong... NOW: Can i translate the ...

Re: How to manage huge number of data (more than 18000 nulls)
what if you put your nulls in a group, create a pointcloud and connect the group to a add point node and generate strand trails with that? this shoud give you one strand trail for every null. 32000 particles is not very much. SI should be able to handle this, even with strands. otherwise you can cac...

Change Model Icon Display
hello
i could imagine that this has been asked several times before. despite of this, i'm going to ask again
IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE THE DISPLAY ICON OF A MODEL???
like we can do with nulls! why is that such an issue?

Re: Resourcedump
hello i'm trying to get used to arrays. so after playing around a bit i got a "4 point 3d corner pin". 4 Point Corner Pin.xsicompound the downside is: - only works for grids. - you need to match the Resolution of the Grid and ICE compound manually. (is it really impossible to get or set th...
