No, I just added something to demonstrate (to myself) that it wasn't being executed after the state change. My tree would work with the factory version of node.thorsnuts wrote:thanks Steve. didn't see this in time, but I do appreciate it.

Re: SI2015 "no interactive network license"
True, you need the latest version of the NLM to run 2015 software. The relevant part of all that FLEXLM_DIAGNOSTIC output is No socket connection to license server manager. Note that xsi.exe tries for both Maya and 3ds Max licenses. It has nothing to do with your choice, that is there to support wha...

Re: SI2015 "no interactive network license"
What does SoftimageLicense.log say?
What about the FLEXLM_DIAGNOSTICS? (in an si prompt, set that env var to 3 and try to start xsi.exe)

Re: Autodesk retires Softimage
Sure, though if you had a node locked license, you might have to get it transferred or reactivated. I'd have to check up on that though. Just wondering the same thing. It's 2017, you have a node-locked license. The machine dies. There are no longer any working Softimage activation servers. What do ...

Re: Arnold Q&A
hello,Im a little bit confused about linear workflow settings, can anyone help? Im using Softimage 2014SP2. Output gamma is the gamma correction applied to the render region, and to non-floating point render output. Shader/light/texture gamma are for linearizing the input data. You could set all the...

Re: changing size/strandsize of .ass archive
Yes, through the Arnold API.
It's just a curves node in the .ass, so you I think you'd have to recalculate the num_points, points, and radius.

No. The procedural node doesn't have any strand-related parameters that would propagate down into the standin.

Re: Can I get a little help understanding ICE states?
edit: See this post for the basics of states and triggers . You've got a state, but no trigger to get into that state. You do have a trigger to get out of that state. Simple State has no Simulate Particles node inside it. Before you add in the fancy stuff, get a basic state transition working and us...

Re: Problem populating an XSI_CustomPSet template...
I think you need to use AddTemplateParam, no?
field_count and field_name and field_value would be the actual names and values of the custom parameters in the custom Pset.

Sorry, I don't remember anything about it, and there's no other code of that vintage to look at.Archangel35757 wrote:Has ANYONE in this Softimage Programming forum ever used the dotXSI File Transfer Kit (XSIFTK)???
Are the custom parameters in a CustomPSet actually template params, like that NODE parameter?

Arnold is not beta. SItoA 3.0 and MtoA 1.0 are not beta. Note the plugins are free. You pay for the Arnold license and use the plugins you want. And yes, while the Downloads text does say "Mac OS X", that is a copy-paste error. Thanks for noticing, we'll update that. The Requirements secti...

Re: Arnold Q&A
hey, just tried to test render on rebus farm - but it always gives error message that the path to images is wrong and stops rendering. so I guess, I have to check/uncheck something and maybe change the environment for textures? It's probably the Textures Search Path in the Renderer options. I don't...
