Re: Ice modeling to OBJ?
As far as I'm aware, an object is just an object. It doesn't matter if it came from ICE or not.

Re: Any suggested tutorials for Softimage ICE
My opinion is that ICE will become obsolete the day Polygons, Vectors and Matrices are no longer needed. If ICE didn't exist, I'd be delighted if I could afford to build such a thing just for me as a proprietory tool. I would feel it gave me a unique advantage. Everyone has their own reasons for mov...

I don't know, but I'd love to have everything on RRay.de put in one massive ZIP file.
I'd be heartbroken if that site ever went down

You can learn as you go, but understanding the jist of vectors is essential to do anything useful.

Re: morphing moving sequences
https://vimeo.com/33588786 You can do it with ICE. If you wanted to work with moving Images you'd have to track both inputs (by hand or via tracking points (you could make this for it https://vimeo.com/155009080 )) and it should work fine If you want to do it with commercial software. the best I kn...

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - The Big Series
A very impressive feat of tenacity. I wish I had that prolonged focus. Its a rare and very valuable trait to have. I find it a shame you've put a huge amount of energy into something you don't own the IP to but I'm sure you weighed all that up and its not my place to judge whether that's a good idea...

Re: Shape Manager Frustration
Always best to do shapes after you've finished the model if you can. Point order changes WILL screw them up. Softimage point order will maintain with some topology operations, but its not magic and some will change it, so if you can in future, do the shapes after modelling is done. However this is f...

Re: 3D-Coat 4.5
The accuracy of autotopology yet all the speed of manual topologising! How horridly cynical of me but I guess I can't quite see the benefit yet. I use 3d coat a lot, but i do feel like i'm on holiday having learnt some local phrases, rather than fully understanding the language. It seems strange to ...

Re: begin using Softimage 2014 ??
The bottom line is, there is nothing remotely like Softimage, for getting things done in an elegant, immediate and powerful way. When you throw ice into the mix, that advantage becomes exponential. My opinion is that, the advantage softimage has transcends the fact it's no longer developed, as it fe...

Interior graphs are coming in canvas.
If I understand correctly, This feature should allow a per point parallel process, and be able to handle this kind of thing.

Re: fabric engine skinning research
Can you write arrays of strings in ICE? That might make things clearer.
That is, If alembic supports them and subsequently could bring them into canvas.
