Re: Is it possible to memorize values in ice?
One way is to use a self.parameter where parameter can be anything - so you pipe your values into a set data (self.whatever) and add that into the first execute port. then lower down the tree you can use a get data with the same param.

Re: My Wishlist for Softimage... maybe 2013 ?
One other thing that I've found really puts people off softimage, the ability to stop heavy simulations without resorting to killing the process, that's a huge bugbear with the maya guys here...

Silver Subs. Viewport updates (RT lighting/shadows/AO etc) Texture Editor update. Polygonizer version update. Sculpting tools. Incoprorating some of Ciaran's ice workflow tools. ICE Kinematics to be tackled properly - reliable compounds for arms/legs/spine etc. Default options for delta ref models t...

Re: Siggraph 2011
The London user group was good while it lasted, but sadly it didn't die because of Avid/Autodesk/Whoever. It mainly came down to the people who ran and managed it not having enough time to do it, along side their normal day jobs That's true, I wasn't suggesting otherwise. When raff went to LA, and ...

Re: Siggraph 2011
PS: Yeah, did I mention this: AD does not support our UeberTage usermeeting this year... Really? That's a bit mean of them, considering you're providing some much needed PR for their software. Its a shame as when it was Avid owned, the support for the London User Group was great, they really did va...

Some info on the SAP for 2012: http://xsisupport.wordpress.com/2011/08/08/autodesk-announces-subscription-advantage-packs-for-2012-entertainment-software/ Seems a little thin but as long as the update works and is reliable (did that mr render bug get dealt with when rendering heavy scenes the cores ...

Re: Price change imminent?
Thanks for doing what you can Graham. This is a pretty massive issue for the smaller shops/freelancers as you can imagine, and although I try to be rational about autodesk and the product direction it does feel like we're being squeezed out. If we have to make some noise to get the subscription issu...

Re: Price change imminent?
I think we need a bit of patience - it makes sense that once the gold level is matching the other apps there will be a silver level also to match the other apps. If this doesn't appear then by all means lets kick up a fuss, but right now its too early to know for sure.

Because Adobe already got away with it?CiaranM wrote:What I don't know is why it's so much more expensive in Europe than in the US?
What's annoying is that before softimage was part of autodesk prices were relatively equal in europe and across the pond.

Re: Price change imminent?
I only have 2 licences, and the price increase is a big chunk of budget that could go towards other apps/hardware/food.
I am hoping that some of the theoretical possibilities that stephen describes on the list will come to pass...

Re: Softimage 2012 sp1 licensing
Did you save a copy of your licence file? If you just upgraded your hdd the old one should still work (I think!) so make sure you copy that .lic file over to your new hdd and get the server started using the licence manager (just realised this is network version, not sure about standalone...)

Re: Make a compound with "New Value" inputs?
Just as an additional note to that page - I found I needed to create 2 instances of the input port and then ICE would add the option to add new connections like you describe.
