The only thing that comes to mind is disabling Aero which you've probably done already

Re: IRay Progressive Rendering Tests
Magog: Not sure. I would think the cuda controller takes care of it, and present the 3 cards as 1 device to iRay Mr Core: Thanks for contributing! Lighting and mats looks good but I gotta say I'm not really convinced by how iRay does dof. It just looks washed out, mental ray's normal dof looks bette...

Re: IRay Progressive Rendering Tests
If you see 'no cuda devices found' in the error log, that means your graphics card isn't supported. I've had some trouble running cuda on a mobile card even though it officially supported cuda.

It works with any modern graphics card and newer softimage releases. Nothing else is required.

Re: IRay Progressive Rendering Tests
Testing max polycount with a zbrush model... around 1.2 million quads seems what at most goes into the 768MB of my gfx card .. so a 3GB card would hold around 5 million polygons

Re: rendering hair (xsi hair - not ice) with ibl
Kzin, thanks for the tip. I tried Unified with Rasterizer+IBL but got stripe artefacts with low IBL quality settings. But got a 5-10% speedup for the Light rig+shadowmap render, without quality loss. Have yet to try Scanline+IBL+Unified but am guessing that it'll be too slow. Light rigs+shadowmaps f...

Re: rendering hair (xsi hair - not ice) with ibl
Hey this looks really cool - I haven't been able to get anything like this. Is it possible to post the file so I can deconstruct it and find out what I'm doing wrong? I wouldn't need the geo, just the hair cloud, lighting, and render settings... I took a look at your other file (with the cube) and ...

Re: rendering hair (xsi hair - not ice) with ibl
Here's a hair test btw, rendered with MR's IBL accelleration.
Ca . 10 hr but no render settings tweaking, max IBL quality.
Would need stronger specular settings and some thickness+length gradient for a more realistic hairline

Re: scrollbar bug in Compound Version Manager?
Tried updating, my redraw issue wasn't fixed by updating the driver (GTX 285), but it's not so bad.. only happends once every few hours. If it's really annoying for you, still could be worth the try. Can't hurt.. usually .
