Re: mGridUV
I don't think I will release a tutorial because, well, 1. My knowledge of the SDK isn't that good. I only know the parts I'm interested in . 2. Softimage is EOL :( 1. which probably covers 99% of what people would need to know in order to make cool stuff like you. :-bd 2. EOL but not dead or broken...

Pluralsight retiring Digital-Tutors library on July 31
I was just browsing the web and decided to see what was going on at Pluralsight and saw this big red banner at the top of the page that states this: On July 31st, 2017 the Digital-Tutors library will be retired along with Digital-Tutors concurrent licensing. Effective August 1, 2017 any active group...

Re: cool unique everyday polymodeling tools in all packages
I've always liked the "Intrude" tool in Wings 3D to punch a hole through some selected faces in the geometry and create a shell, it feels intuitive and the result looks accurate. I've also had better experiences unifying normals in Blender than anything else by using the "Recalculate ...

Ah that's a shame, yeah I knew about the color box method, I was just hoping there was a way to avoid the extra steps, thanks.

Change how RGB values are displayed?
Is there a way to change the way RGB values are displayed in the material ppg?
They are displayed as 0.000-1.000 normalized values, but I would rather see them displayed from 0-255. Is there something in the .spdl I can modify here?

I'm not familiar with this plugin, but does this video look like it could be the missing one?

Re: Move an object to the ground
Okay thanks, that works with all objects except the cone like you said. There should be no problem with cones if the object's bounding box data is used to ground it. My script doesn't seem to have problems with cones.

Not working in Softimage Mod Tool 7.5, throwing this error: Object doesn't support this property or method on this line: var vba = new VBArray( oSelection(oItem).GetBoundingBox(oTransform) ); If Daniel doesn't fix this error in his, my "ground object" script works in 7.5 if anyone needs it...

Re: Move an object to the ground
I am not a programmer but I managed to make this work. Here is a simple script based on what I was posting about earlier that will bring the bottom of an object's bounding box to Y=0, or the "ground". You can drag this into a toolbar and make a script button, then select one object and run...
