the default point emitting compounds suck, imho. I tend to slap something together with "generate sample set" and "add point" nodes, as soon as things start to get slow.
edit: they dont suck, they just tend to do a lot more then you might need, and that may be expensive

Re: Colour Management not behaving
Hi kidney, colour management is for visualization only, it does not mess with the actual files. This means you can store the linear data produced by the renderer, which would be advantageous if you use float or half-float formats (which are becoming a standard). That said with 8bit maps like you are...

Re: Dandelion R&D
you could try neighbouring forces like Alan does for his baloons... a lower force might get you something a bit more flexible / less rigid.
dont know how would you couple that with the strands in the end though... but it is probably doable

Quicktip: Installing Gear in network workgroups
Hi guys, here is a quicktip on setting up Gear. The standard way to do this is storing your gear (python) modules somewhere in your PC and then set up a proper environment variable. If you have to settup gear for use in many computers that can be a drag. So an alternative is this: 1. Instal the gear...

Re: mirror animation
sorry zafar, my post was a bit misleading. one needs to go through all the process of installing gear AND THEN find the broken python file inside it, AND THEN exchange it for the one I posted the link to. the price is higher, and I didnt even mention you will have to setup that template I talked abo...

Re: mirror animation
