There is not much difference. But you can use scale as multipler for size. So for example if you particles have random size at emission, you can then use scale to scale them down easily. Setup I posted works as you described. Make sure you have put right value for base_value in modulate value over compound (that is eg for scale its 1,1,1)

Well if you trigger test for velocity just after curl noise, curl noise won't happen since you move to another state just after particle starts to move.

Just installed demo. I don't see tiff format in vray image output. Exr multichannel/others renders multimatte just fine.

In max it's the same. Dunno how the multimatte UI looks in xsi but in max you have to uncheck material ID (for object ID) and turn on r/g/b. Then render to multichannel exr, thats all, you don't need to render separate pass.

Yeah, but comparing to vray dmc...its...easy to setup ;) I might be wrong but I see camera AA acts as multipler for rest of AAs. So far im loving it. One slider to boost quality instead of 2 windows full of options.
But Im not sure if its good choice for freelance due to lack of interpolated GI solutions.

Yes, bump map is too strong and too even, maybe also scale is abit off. Especialy bumps under eyes are wrong
