Re: Finally used Maya and here are my initial thoughts.
Can't you just use fabric engine with maya for the fancy deformation stuff that you want?

Re: Houdini Roadmap Presentation | SIGGRAPH 2016
If anyone from sidefx is reading this, it would be great if the autorig would also generate a shadowrig that could be used with unity mecanim.

Re: Let me be the first
I'm hoping fabric won't be just a tool development platform for people to use together with maya. It would be great if it could also be used for scene assembly and lighting together with the render engine of your choice be it corona render or redshift or something else. The stage module looked very ...

Re: Autodesk retires Softimage
Well Autodesk lost a lot of rep on this one especially with the bit on how the license will be terminated, if you are on subscription, whatever that means. If instead of retiring it they did something like drop the price of softimage and just slow the development down to a crawl(sort of what they ha...

Fabric engine forum section
Well now that softimage is uh retired and most people are looking for an alternative , perhaps we should create a forum section here for discussing fabric engine. After all it was created by ex softimage team and it seems to be where most of softimage users place their hopes for the future.

Re: Autodesk retires Softimage
So what does retiring mean in this case exactly?
That they will stop supporting and developing it or does this mean that the license will stop working completely
and you wont be able to use or install any version of softimage at all?

Re: Advice on stylized modelling / texturing
Looks much better now. The style reminds me of an adventure game called Ceville a bit.
The ambient occlusion looks very dark in the last pic maybe you could try making the effect a little less visible?

Re: lowpoly forest scene wip
A Mmorpg of course, no actually it will be a relatively basic platformer with some adventure elements hopefully. I am mostly doing it to learn unity so it will depend on what I can put together without programming experience in it.

Re: lowpoly forest scene wip
Thank you for your comments. I don't really mind the grain at this point as this is more of a look development render. I am planning to make a smallish unity game out of this so I will do some animation as well. Have to figure out now how to recreate this look in unity as close as possible, probably...
