Re: Lightwave offer

I would like to ask Rob a couple of questions about LW roadmap. I'm already a registered LW 11.6 user. One of my favorite updates is the Bullet physics and the Cloth simulation and simulation on Fiberfx Hair. It's super fast if you have a good graphics card. For making LW even more powerful for char...

Re: AD: new SI licensing plans!!!

Can you still additional licenses of Softimage after 2015 - 2016? That is something that isn't clear to me. I don't care if they cancel support, as long as you still can buy the sofware it's fine with me.

Re: V-Ray for Softimage: Tutorials and Walkthrough

There's a new demo video about VRAY RT on youtube.

V-Ray RT for Softimage R&D Demo on ChaosGroupTV youtube channel.

I was wondering are you limited to the memory of your GPU card when you use VRAY RT in GPU mode?

Re: GEAR_mc

Could you do a video on the new facial rigging compounds? Would you consider implementing an advanced spring solver, for instance rigging the suspension of a car?

A question about 3Delight rib export in Softimage

Hi, Can someone explain me how to export RIB files in the archives export tab without rendering the entire scene? I'm able to export the rib file but it also renders the scene. I'm using the demo version of the software. Can someone explain me what version I need or how to export a RIB file without ...

Seems like the guys from Newtek are catching up fast

They have copied the idea of the Sparta project and made commercial software of it. https://www.lightwave3d.com/chronosculpt/ https://www.lightwave3d.com/news/article/nevronmotion-transforms-mocap-in-lightwave-116/ If you've looked at the quality of the features they are adding compared to Autodesk ...

Kickstarter Arkyd a space telescope for everyone

Hi,

For 25USD you can get your picture on a satellite in space. My ego was is very big so I backed the project and donated 25 USD. It would be cool if you could wspy your neighbours or someone else with the telescope.

Re: Announcing Redshift - Biased GPU Renderer

Are you guys planning to make an affordable ( between 25 to 100 USD per month) subscription for a cloud rendering farm? The guys from Octane Render did that. I don't like the pricing. A bit to expensive for me. I'd like to see some hair and fur and ice or realflow simulations with it in Softimage.

Re: XBox Kinect mocap and 3D scanning

Brekel point cloud is out for sale now. I saw this video showing how to do animation with Brekel pointcloud in Maya. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-ip7S1zDMU Does it make sense to use it as a reference for doing character animation in Softimage. I've bought the light version of Ipisoft and to be h...

Re: Soon: Isotropix Clarisse?

You can download the personal learning edition from Clarisse. There is some training about it on CMIVFX. You defenitly need a fast machine with more cpu cores to work with it. I like the workflow though. The fact that you first do all your animation and simulation in your 3D application and then cac...
