Re: Advise on RedShift for XSI

Out of interest have you used fstorm for max? I'm always impressed with the arch-viz stuff I see coming out of that renderer.

Re: Advise on RedShift for XSI

Really sucks :( Quite glad I don't have to share my workstation with my sons, don't know what would end up on there, but probably more paw patrol than rlm ;)

So what are you moving onto? Octane, Sycles, something completely different?

Re: Advise on RedShift for XSI

sorry, that's awful treatment. Did you not have proof of purchase? Want me to contact them about it? Must be a major error on their system/record-keeping.

I remember some of your redshift work from a while back, really nice stuff. Why the change of heart?

Re: Advise on RedShift for XSI

In your position I really would take another look at blender. Its making big strides, there's a ton of help out there, and Redshift is arriving shortly. Though it seems like denoising + rtx gpu may get you fast enough using cycles/eevee. There are render farms out there, even ones which you can use ...

Looks great, blender 2.8.1 has some of those tools but the splines look very handy.

Well, that's truly sad to hear. I hope it wasn't too tied into the sofitmage aquisition. Thanks for all the help over the years and best of luck in the cyersecurity realm, that one definitely seems like a growing market!

Re: Editing Shapes in the Shape Manager

If you install gear there is a menu option to reset shape deformation on selected points. It will leave an operator so once you're happy with the reset best to freeze it off, otherwise any future changes will also get reset.

Yeah I have to say that the shape workflow is great, sculpting on top of combination shapes, or posed mesh is fast and easy. Weight painting still sucks ass.

AWESOME!! Fantastic work, how much of that was 3d character versus 2d? I really can't tell the difference.

Re: Great work done with Softimage

Thanks guys! I was only a small part of the production, did the pre-vis, rigs and camera anim. The CG side was made by Seed Animation Studios, the main man was Neil Kidney. I don't know everyone who worked on it, but those I do know were Darren Cullis, Omar Sarmiento, Kornel Makarowicz, Vladimir Ven...
