Re: Crosswalk & mental ray materials?
FBX is an wonderful format for transfers from XSI to Max and vice versa. If you take care of little things like maintaining aspect ratios of camera etc., it's possible to transfer meshes, UVs and animations. But you can't transfer anything between these two which are intrinsic features. Still now, ...

cgfx shaders for SI, that using more than one lightsource
Hello.
Do someone have a code example for a SI compatible cgfx shader, which supports more than one light source?
I've searched the whole "(X)SI internet", but haven't found anything really usable. The examples that are delivered with SI are not really helpful.
Best wishes
Chris

Re: Work in Progress: Fiat 850 Special Edition 1968
The transform node is used to make the background big enough for a decent sized car. I could find a bigger image that has the resolution already, but I liked this one. I took it as a part of the challenge, to blend the car with a noisy image. Passes are rendered with black background. I don't see a...

Hi shushens, very nice result. Because of your problem: Did you switched off "Premultiply with Alpha" ? You will find the checkbox in the mental ray options, there in Framebuffer -> Color Control. You have to switch it off. It is switched on by default, but I don't know whatfor it is neede...

Re: T-Gen 2 released !
Personally, I don't know why having blended branches is such a big deal. (You really can't see the difference from a distance and if its a close up or a tree featuring a lot in an animation you'll probably wan't to get the shape a specific way and do it by hand). Anyway, regardless I thought I see ...

@shushens: I don't know, when you tried 3D Coat the last time, but there are a lot of improvements since version 2.

Re: Projection/Stencil Painting
Just a question: Did you ever tried 3D Coat 3? Maybe this could be a solution? It is worth a try.

Re: T-Gen 2 released !
Really nice plugin but one question:
The branches: Are they "only" sticked into the trunk of the tree?
If yes, is there a possibility to have a smooth/beveled intersection between the branches and the trunk?
Thanx
Chris

Owei and me are a little bit busy at the moment.
But I didn't forgot the announcement.
I think, the contest will start in some weeks.

@owei:
Maybe one point: The links in posts should have a better identification. Gray text in combination with black post-text is not optimal, currently.

Re: General forum organization
Don't forget "Materials", it's a own section. And the "FX-Tree" or "Compositing", what would be better, I guess.
And one point: I think "Modeling" ist the right notation, not "Modelling".
