At first I tought that problem was in old scenes I was loading in 2012.... because render did not want to start, but now I see that I just did not wait enough :-)
beta testers probably use Arnold or 3delight :-)

Linux problem UNC path when mi2 created on Windows

My problem is more OS oriented: Im trying to render file "house.mi2" on F11 using ray3. "house.mi2" file was created on Windows machine and textures are embeded. While trying to render on F11 using ray3 everything goes OK but output image file is not written on disk (file server)...

check out mental ray rendering settings in "Optimization".
You probably have enabled "Memory limit (mental ray)".
just unchek it.

There is "Ctrl_SelectiveAliasing" for x86. you can get it here: http://rray.de/xsi/ Shader is not compiled for xsi x64, but there is 3dsmax version (mi file and dll) it is called ctrl_object (http://maxplugins.de/mentalray.php). I tried to create spdl file from that but with no luck (Im no...

Thank you very much! im going to try some older ray3.
also I noticed that if you don't use -file_dir command ray3 is not
going to render your mi2 file if it is somewhere outside of xsi project folder.

that is what i thought also reading mental ray manual, but it does not work for me. output images still
end up in xsi project folder. Thanks anyway.
