Re: FESRetopo - retopology tool for Softimage

Hey everybody,

if anyone knows something about whether it's OK to make Fabric Engine available as a download here, please let me know!

Cheers!

Re: Rotor Wind sim on geometry

Maybe this could be done the low tech way with a turbulence field that controls a 2nd turbulence field that has a higher frequency (jitter for single grass strands). Maybe even a third on top for good measure.
No idea about controlled movement though atm except moving one field globally.

Re: wiki info on Ice

Ah I see, its url was changed. That break them if you want to access them work from inside XSI ... not a big issue anyway since offline help works just as well now.

Re: Rotor Wind sim on geometry

Heyy, Looks great :) Ideas hmmm.. the air seems too well-behaved maybe, some occasional turbulences flying away outward from the center might help with it

Re: prt reader in ice?

It looks like here it was solved with some custom coding: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/xsi_list/O4N5kdQjUFU The icecache module mentioned is at the bottom of this page: http://softimage.wiki.softimage.com/index.php?title=Icecache_File_Format (wiki seems to be up again!) also attached just...

Re: Ice particles fall through collision object

There was also an update with a "continuous collision engine" at some point: http://webrel2.softimage.com/open/video/xsi7/01_Particles_Continuous_Collision_Engine.flv might be the one from this compound: http://download.autodesk.com/global/docs/softimage2012/en_us/userguide/files/iceref_Test_Collisi...

Re: prt reader in ice?

Do a seach for "kies" in the resource section. It's for Softimage 2010, but might be worth a try. Other than that no idea.

Re: generate point on edge

Shouldn't be a problem

From your code it looks like you're calling PutUserData from inside a loop, it's better to call it only once, outside of the loop

Unfortunately I can't do that. I moved my stuff to artstation and canceled previous webhosting. So all those pictures are gone :)
Same issue as in my WIP thread. I posted some links in your older thread if someone bumps into it.

Re: NVIDIA® OptiX™ AI-Accelerated Denoiser

So this works by predicting from the grainy image what the finished image looks like? I think it would be like a really good application for machine learning, because the finished images would serve great as training data .

Amazing! Makes me want to step through my monitor again, but it's not large enough ;)

Btw I wondered is there a chance to make the pictures in this older thread of yours work again? viewtopic.php?p=56068#p56068

Re: generate point on edge

nice progress. that seam is from the proportional transform tool. when points come into its influence area that werent in the initial cluster, they won't be translated. it's better to use the normal move tools, which store the translation for each point, or move the proportional further down in the ...

Re: Trouble exporting scene...

The textures might have been saved with absolute paths, which means you could try putting it on the same drive in the same subfolder as on your own computer. Worth a try at least
