Silo had this go straight feeling just like LW modeler
Didn't you forget something?
I think XSI is the queen of "no f-ing around" type of poly modeling solution. At least when compared to 3dsMax, Maya and Houdini, I don't have experience with other 3d DCCs.
By "LW" you mean lightweight? I ask because it could be confused it with LightWave.
I'm curios whether there still is a market for a such an application since most do a lot more nowadays, not necessarily very well and at a higher price point, granted.
My God! Universe, whatever...
Are you still doing this? I guess if it pleases you, but Jesus...
Someone should "report" this guy to the Guinness book for something. If they take applicants related to forums, or cgi, or persistence, he has a chance of winning something.
Good luck, live long and prosper!
CGI is a crazy industry, both from a technical perspective as well as a personal one.
Kudos to you and also to those who will still be around for the years to come.
Hi stevejjd, Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I'm no longer a regular visitor on this forum. The links posted above by Maximus are a great learning source and showcase for XSI sub-d modeling. Since I transitioned to Houdini, I haven't done much poly modeling, I've focused on mainly sculptin...
Well, maybe not removed, but since they've marked it as "deprecated", its days are numbered as they say here: https://support.solidangle.com/display/A5AFMUG/Skin
Regarding the install- I was hoping I could avoid that. Either way, I no longer need it for the time being.
Howdy all,
I hope 2018 has found you healthy and happy.
I have a bit unusual request, from anyone with the latest Arnold (5 I believe): can you share one or a few print-screens with all the settings of the Skin shader please?
This could be just another sorry attempt at increasing profits. Don't get me wrong, I'm a pro free-market capitalist, so I don't dis the chase for profit, just the approach of some companies to achieving it. If the layoffs consist of developers, it's going to be their downfall. Otherwise, if it's &q...
Yes, his attitude towards work and accomplishment is definitely one of a winner. Also, notice the non-BS clear think and by contrast, the pervasive sheep-think "software doesn't matter, it's the artist" the other guy has espoused. This kind of relativism is not at all surprising considerin...
Yeah, things do change at a fast pace in Houdini, which has an obvious upside: advancement. It's indeed an issue when many, if not most, learning materials are referring to obsolete methods and tools, but SESI is deprecating lost of stuff as of late while maintaining some backwards compatibility for...
