Re: Can't open scenes

Running -any- app as administrator is -not- a good idea, especially nowadays. If the app -needs- admin control to run, it's a badly written app from a lazy programmer imho. Unfortunately a lot of older apps run this way, and you really have to think hard if you want to run these security holes on yo...

So long, and thanks for all the Fish.....

Hi all, After many, many years working in 3D - and having worked with almost every popular 3D application in that time (too long a list) -, I've recently decided not only to stop using Softimage|XSI, but to step out of the 3D business all together. For me it will become a hobby pass time from now on...

Due to the Intel hacks lately, there was a load of hardware/code updates on this on Win10. Maybe something ...

Re: AD stops issuing activation codes older software

MAC spoofing could be an option, but having hardware is simpler to deal with. You can do it software wise, as long as you know what you're doing and understand the process involved. ;) There's one gotcha regarding virtual machines I forgot to mention, and that is they are based on the underlying tec...

Re: AD stops issuing activation codes older software

Hi You need the help of AD to transfer your license to a another MAC address, e.g. on a different netwerk card or a WiFi dongle. Not sure if that is still possible for the older licenses though. You -could- use software to spoof a MAC address, but for licensing it's not really recommended. There are...

Re: Where can i download old Soft|3D plugins?

The Konshus tools come to mind as modeling tools. There was one that deformed geo with a curve, and another one that was - I think - some kind of proportional modeling tool. As far as I can recall, most plugins added to the shading and rendering functionality of SI|3D. I can understand the 'trip to ...

Maybe Owei can answer that one. He did a lot of smoke sims with Eric's tools for the Playmobil videos.

Meh.... Too little too late...

Just jump onto the Houdini Indy bandwagon, or just get Blender and use a couple of months of AD subscription worth to get all the addons you'll ever need ;)
