Re: Buy Softimage!
LOL, that's very nice of you, but to be fair to Autodesk I only ever agreed to come back for a year. You lot are too much like hard work. ;)

Re: Buy Softimage!
Hi there, So I just got confirmation that what I said is the case. You'll be able to crossgrade current versions after Feb 1, 2015. So in order to crossgrade your current bundle to a suite if you are not on subs, you should do so while 2015 is the current release. I can't give you any dates of when ...

Re: Buy Softimage!
As Daniel mentions, he's taking over from me on Softimage transition as they cart me off to the madhouse to recover when my contract ends at the end of this month. ;) I hope you'll be as kind and patient with him as you have been with me. I'll stick around until then to help where I can. Cheers, Jil...

Re: Buy Softimage!
Hi there, Going from one product to another of the same version is not considered an upgrade, it's considered a crossgrade, so I don't think it would be affected. You would need to be on the same version, though: 2015 to 2015, or 2016 to 2016. I will double-check for you on the particular scenario t...

Re: Buy Softimage!
As far as I understand, you should have them - can you open a case?

Re: Buy Softimage!
Hey guys, I'm really sorry that I have confused things. I seem to have managed to confuse myself along the way too. I've read all the previous posts including ones from Maurice, where he states that you do NOT need to continue to be on subscription to use your Softimage license post 2016 and for sur...

Re: Buy Softimage!
You don't have to stay on subs to use Softimage in perpetuity, but if you're going to drop off subs you should do it before fully transitioning your license to a Maya-only license. I'd suggest you install any upgrades prior to Feb 1, 2016, but not after then if you plan to come off subs. If you're g...

Re: Buy Softimage!
Hi there, This is really complicated, I'm sorry. Because this is designed to be a 'transition' bundle, if you stay on subs and install all of the upgrades, eventually (post Feb 1 2016) your Maya + Softimage license will become a Maya license. While you're on subs, you'll be able to continue to be ab...

Re: Buy Softimage!
That's correct, Tim, it's a bundle license, like a suite.

Re: Buy Softimage!
Hi guys, I'm truly sorry that we haven't been as clear as we should have been on this. We are actively in the process of updating the FAQ. Just to recap: If you wish to purchase new or additional seats of Softimage 2015 you can do so by purchasing either the Maya with Softimage or 3ds Max with Softi...

Re: Migration to MAYA - Service Packs
Ok so it was definitely not a stupid question. SP5 is a patch on Windows that works with both 2015 and 2015 Ext 1 (no need to uninstall first). For Linux and Mac, the same fixes are available in a full install but you'll need a different executable available from the subs center for the extensions i...
