Yeah ... Max is a religion. :D

Anybody saw the event last night? 3December? Autodesk was going to stream it live, but it's to late at my time (1AM) to stay up and watch.

Re: What if Softimage died?

That's why I prefer advertisement. Softimage could take Cinema 4D every day. ICE it's way powerfull and with a build in motion tools, it would attract new users.

Since Maya is the focus for Games and Film, will AD push Max for viz only?

With such great plugins, it would be a loss.

Re: Some news from Siggraph

Do you guys have some good article on transition from max/softimage to maya? I'm sorry to revive this thread but I was seeing some videos of AD Masterclasses and found one that might be of help to those wishing to transition or learn Maya. I must add I haven't watched yet. Here's a brief synopsis. ...

Re: Softimage Creatives London user group

Not sure whether we'll be able to record the presentations or not yet, we will try to get something up but there are always issues with copyright for commercial productions, as well as finding someone with a camera who doesn't mind doing the recording! (and editing after...) If only I lived in Lond...

And if all the ex-ICE developers are working on Bifrost, who's working on ICE?

I thought this was pretty cool.

I should study ICE more. But the Max users are loving this (or at least for what is it about).

Re: softimage.tv - Hello World!

It would be nice if Softimage users could produce more tutorials too. The Softimage youtube channel is shamefull. Just a few tutorials and video when you compare with 3ds Max and Maya.

As for games, doesn't all major Square games are made in Softimage?

Re: AD: pay as you go...

To me the whole “why is Softimage not included in this scheme?” is pretty uninteresting Renting is important to put a foot in the door so to speak, with Softimage in more studios, i certainly could have done stuff in Softimage instead of having to use 3dsMax in some situations with a monthly rent. ...

The "who's who" of Autodesk - I realize that you may have noticed some personnel changes over the past couple of years as the voices on your community board have changed. What I would like to do now is explain the new Autodesk "voices" that represent ALL Autodesk products, at th...

Re: New DT traning coming Softimage way ...

Btw that softimage training you are seeing is the DT last one? Yes, that one. I'm enjoing learning Softimage but not the training. Because of the video, I thought it would be better. I'm enjoying the Max training (at least the ones teached by Josh) a lot more. Actually I'm just happy I'm learning.

Re: New DT traning coming Softimage way ...

Man ... just an update... But the new training is boring. Jesus!! I've just finished the one in 3dsMax and Josh (teacher) teaches in a well paced way, he explains why he's doing stuff, different takes on modeling, topology, etc. Then you get into the Softimage one and not even an reference image is ...
