Re: Mathematical problem

I presume these calculations take place in an ideal space, e.g. there are no friction or wind resistance. Taking these factors into account, I would presume (sorry no time for calculations right now) that the straight curve would likely be the fastest path?

Re: Emit Strands though Object and Collide ?

Falam,

I suggest you pick up some more basic level ICE knowledge. You seem to be lost a bit in a deep fog. I recommend Thiago Costas ICE tutorials which are available to buy at cmivfx.com. They will give you a good understanding of what ICE is and the logic of it.

New ICE stuff:

So CUDA based rigid body simulation environment. That feature didn't exist, (or never worked before), right?

Re: Getting data from cached files as array

Thanks for the tips guys, seems there is no simple solution. Well I wanted to dig into some programming for a while, maybe a good project to start with if I can find the time.

Re: Getting data from cached files as array

Thanks for your answer.

Smart way of doing, once again thanks to Paul Smith!

Would be nice to know though, if anybody know of a tool that can read ICE caches 'as a whole' and build an array from it.

Getting data from cached files as array

Hi, Does anybody know of a way to load a sequence of cahced file attributes as an array in an ICE tree. Let's say I have a sequence of cached particles positions and I would like to load the entire sequence' point positions as one array in a (non-simulated) ICE tree. Is this possible? Thanks in adva...

Re: writing weightMaps

Yes, I got that far :) Question is how do I use the data I get from the location to write to the weightmap? As my setup is now, I get the pointPositions from the pointCloud, build an array from set, feed that into get closest location' position and get the weightmap from the location, but how do I w...

writing weightMaps

Hi guys, I hope you can help me with this one, as I am a bit stuck... I have a bunch of cached particles all with positions matching a point (not vertex) on a mesh (not the emitting mesh). All particles have velocity 0, but at some point they start flying (at varying time). I would like to paint a w...

Re: Vray for Softimage online renderfarm

I have no idea how their rendering services are, but 3D-connection (Company that owns renderpower.dk) are the official autodesk and VRay reseller in Denmark. If you have any questions, try to reach Walter Vestergaard at 3D-connection. He is a nice guy and has been running this company for a very lon...
