random polygons removed from cluster

Hello all I have an issues going on where I did a simulation in Houdini and bring it over to Softimage to render with redshift. there are clusters that I get from the alembic file. works fine for the first few frames but then the clusters shift. some of the polygons in the clusters shift for some re...

Re: Importing Houdini Trails into softimage

Alembic did work, but decided to join bring in the points and using ice strands to render the trails, was an overall easier way to get it to work. alembic did bring in the curves but i didn't want to go back and forth.

Re: ehRSCamera for use with Redshift

win 10 might have done alittle something to the soft and its environment viable , i Open the Softimage command prompt and run the runonce.bat a tip from eric thiverage. and it started working thanks for this tool, it might have a late night, but make things look nice is worth while. this where i rea...

Re: ehRSCamera for use with Redshift

Re: SideFX Houdini 15 it out!

H15 is a great release. and the guys over a sideFx are pretty awesome. but my issue with Houini is the same. The UI is just terrible. It needs some serious love, the interface alone is really (IMHO) the biggest hurtle for most artist and untimely drives them away. doing tut within sops, to do a &quo...

Re: exposing data in houdini like in ICE (no scripting)

it still should be looked into, a more artist friendly Houdini. I am sure then more artist will come over and not walk away as soon as they see the modeling tools.

Re: exposing data in houdini like in ICE (no scripting)

guess i am spoiled with xsi. where i could do something so simple as pressing tab and getting a randomize node. and pluging it in.
guess i can't avoid expressions.

exposing data in houdini like in ICE (no scripting)

I was never a programmer, partly because i am dyslexic. so looking though lines of code to look for a miss placed comma is alittle hard for me. after a while i see flowers and butterflies and realize i am looking out the window. but using ice i never had to go through lines of code, a crazy ice tree...

Re: Softimage replacement, anyone

no....... the modeling, lighting and render passes with the addition of vdb/emfluid and redshift render. it does it all, and its more scaleable for me more then then C4D or modo, though they do what they, soft is still the best for me. softimage is like a Swiss army knife - all the tools you need fo...
