I'd probably stick to Softimage till the end. I think I tried all the main 3D packages and neither of them come close in having UI and workflow that'd fit me like the Softimage does.
Cinema 4D is nice for creating some quick motiongraphics though.

I must say I kind feel sorry for all the engineers and programmers at Autodesk if they have people like Carl Bass as a CEO over there, I mean what he probably wants from them is to create application where you press on couple of buttons and voila you get Pixar-quality movie in half an hour...or some...

But if you dont renew or buy new versions, then Autodesk will go "look nobodys upgrading/buying this software any longer, let's discontinue the thing". So it's a lose-lose situation.

I wouldn't be surprised if Maya 2014 is equally disappointing and the only new "additions" are those seen in sneak peeks.
