Re: GPU rendering help offered
Here are banchmarks: 4x1080ti: 3min 6sec 4x1070: 4min 22sec It really depends from scene to scene, this is benchmark but in standard rendering difference can be much lower. Final point is that 1070 is great GPU with best perf/price ratio. If you scenes are fitting nicely in its VRAM then it doesn't ...

Re: Animation and Rigging in Softimage after years
War between Maya and Softimage was more marketing war not who got technology first war. If it was that SI would beat maya hands down. There are things even today that maya never got to grasp and you hve them for years in Softimage. Just for one example, blend shape system with creating dozens of dup...

Re: Animation and Rigging in Softimage after years
I had HUGE wall of text but decided that it can be summed to much shorter version so here it is. WHY would you suggest maya at all? It is ancient software full of crap built by Frankenstein method, buying out and plugging in misc pieces of software and usually implementing it poorly and not having p...

Re: GPU rendering help offered
Hahahah even test scenes no worries at all, Don't hesitate at all. As I mentioned, from time to time farm is sitting and better to use it to help out anyone that needs it. True, from time to time if someone does have nice big project they do donate a bit $ to cover some electricity and cold beer whi...

Re: Autodesk Perpetual+Maintenance Transfered to Sub???
in legal stuff wording is everything.
if you sign contract that says: "I can kiss you whenever I want" and both parties agree and sign, and then one party changes that to: "I can kill you whenever I want"...
you see my point ;)

Re: Question on HQ Viewport
point is that they already had killing SI in plan, it was time wasted on feature that wasn't possible to be implemented fully and properly to be usefull. it is slow and tied to mental ray as I'm aware of it. big majority moved from mental ray a while ago so with no support for other materials... any...

Re: Question on HQ Viewport
honestly hq viewport is poorly done not much of use feature that looks more to be something that they made to fill in what;s new list while waiting to pull the plug completely on Softimage.

Thanks
