Re: Comparing point position on Blend Shapes
Hi Matheaus, Thanks for the tips! Watching Paul Smith tutorial ( Vector and shapes ) I notice that I was wrong and yes, they're not considered arrays but vectors ( per point in my case ). So giving this, if I compare the point position of the original mesh ( all of them are 0,0,0 ) to the...ehm...&q...

Comparing point position on Blend Shapes
Hi all, I'm having some difficulties with comparing two shapes using point position...let me explain. Basically I have the base mesh and I created a couple of blend shapes via the shape manager. The shapes are animated and driven externally. I'm not so good with ICE and I may be saying bs, so bare w...

Lipsync from Facerobot - Help getting animation values
Hi guys, I'm trying to transfer some phonemes shapes from FaceRobot to Maya. Main purpouse would be to extract all the phonemes from FaceRobot ( while setting the lipsync ), transfer all the meshes to Maya, set them as BlendShapes and be able to animated them via SDKs automatically, in order to have...

Re: Unreal Engine 4 is out!
Waiting for the Maya plugin which will allows for both body and facial rig I integrated that rig with my custom facial rig made in Facerobot :) The lipsync/animation is awful but the main purpouse was to check if the rig was properly read by UE4 and looks like its working properly! Re: Migration experiences?
Since I'm working on a new project which requires me only to do some animations I'm currently doing the switch to Maya... At first it looks and feel very awkward, but in few days I felt a bit more comfortable with it... It has lots of neat tools and features, and since I was in the process of learni...

Re: basic rig from Soft to Maya?
I'm curious as to how this would work, I'd love to animate in Si then run rigs in game engines. Does anyone have videos for workflows to Unreal or Cryengine or Unity or something from SI? Wait.. I'm in the wrong thread, this is for Maya.. ah... Check out my YouTube channels, I made some tutorials r...

Re: Maya LT new pricing ...
First, you have to define game development. So, who is using MayaLT ? No idea. Newcomers or additional "big studios" workstation for small related projects maybe? Anyway the price is quite low and I guess it can be a good answer to piracy, or just someone who would like to learn to use th...

Re: Maya LT new pricing ...
Recently Houdini is trying to get into the game development market by releasing the Unity engine, and I have to say, its quite good....but the main "problem" is that Max has been the main 3d app to develop games, you can clearly see that even with all the plugins that the developers themse...

Re: Unreal Engine 4 is out!
Is it me or they were inspired by ICE for the visual scripting? Now there is even the possibility to access geometry at vertex level and procedural geometry creation...this is pretty damn good!!!! https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?1552-Generate-Procedural-Mesh/page2 https://forums.unrea...

Thanks :) I'm testing my workflow using Softimage and some features I'm developing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTr6QRc0vfw Facerobot Rig + Dynamic normal maps to enhance facial expressions...this is just a proof of concept, soon I'll make a Tech Demo to show some other stuff as well... Re: Unreal Engine 4 is out!
Have you used this in conjunction with Softimage? Just solved yesterday, rigged FBX import ( using Species rig and Facerobot ) works, the only thing you need to do while import is to enable "Import Meshes In Bone Hierarchy" in the Advanced tab ;) By the way this engine is pretty damn awes...

Re: R: Displacement trickery.
The distance is not base on the mesh distance but by the point and neighbourghs so the ice tree should be correct (quite the same as shown in the videotutorial) I think that the main problem is the actual distance of the points, where.on the forhead is very small and on the mouth area is quite big,so...

This is based on the Tension map technique, I've created the same technique using the pixel particle plugin, but unfortunately seems that I'm not able to bake out the images from ice, it render just one single image, even if I try to run the a...

Re: Displacement trickery.
Did you do the example you are prersenting here with the skin wrinkles? If yes, how do you get the wrinkles from the stress computation? Are they prepainted and only their influence is changing or are they dynamically generated? Cheers! I'll show my demo in 1-2 weeks, not because its complicated bu...
