Re: Modo 801 Release
I had great expectation in modo. In the end, after 10 years of development, it's just a lightwave on steroids. Xsi with ice, the stack, it's simply in another league...

Re: Fighting the depression
Well, autodesk guys are alive and well. Let's answer them, starting with Belsey. It was the presentation witch took place in Holland at the end of 2008, in Amsterdam. Funny thing how autodesk offered discounts for max and maya but not for Softimage. Somehow you missed the biggest part from the enti...

Re: Marc Petit joins Exocortex
I wouldn't read to much into SI's lack of development. I'm in a job not where I use Inventor a lot and this is supposedly one of Autodesk's flagship products. They don't even develop it properly! I think it's pretty much par for the course with any AD product. The sad thing is, once a product is su...

understood, but a render region setted for fast preview give the some, or more precise, output (or I'm wrong?), so, to me, appear a bit useless

Re: HQV workflow
Hi, thanks for your answer, but don't understood... to me seems an overlapping function with render region, and don't understood why SI team spending resource into this feature It should be much faster then normal rendering, it should be a real time feedback, without render times using the GPU power.

For the symmetry problem, it's incredible how many solution softimage has (made from users) but how many people still ask for it: 1 the ice solution :http://vimeo.com/35609575 2: two very usefull and clever tutorial on symmetry modeling for cylindrical or rounded obj http://vimeo.com/60583597 http:/...

Re: Spoiler Alert: NO SPOILERS ANYMORE
It's not about the bugs. They should be addressed and sometimes they are..... It's about the prospective and future of softimage. Since the avid days, every new release was HUGE compared to the 2013 one. 2013 showed that softimage is dying. It's the best software for my need, i tryed to switch to mo...

Re: Spoiler Alert: NO SPOILERS ANYMORE
Lol, fair enough. :) But if you can show us some software on the market in this space, which is 100% bug free, then I've yet to see it. If you think that the real problem here are "just" the bugs, and not "that" 2014 release list "no-one has seen", then you're a little...

Apologies for my seemingly useless posts, but yeah it is hard. And the only thing I have to say on this topic is no comment. (I've been instructed/reminded to tow company line here.) Regardless of whatever the circumstances, the cold hard fact is that (unless authorised or announced) I'm not able t...

Re: Spoiler Alert: NO SPOILERS ANYMORE
Usually to scare people even more with digital bureaucracy... I wouldn't agree. Talking with my colleagues in the other areas of Autodesks business, it actually makes perfect sense, and as an example its where Autodesk's PLM, BIM and 360 programs come very much into play. These businesses and compa...

Re: How to create a new custom render channel
The documentation explains how to create custom render channels. Or do you already know that and you are asking "how to do it in every scene " ? Hi Stephen ( i follow you on xsi-support, great work!). I already know that method. Or maybe i'm doing something wrong. I create a pass with the...
